This privacy policy explains how personal data is collected, used and protected within the Food Impact Score application (hereinafter "the application").

1. Data controller

Food Impact Score is the data controller for the personal data collected when using the application.

For any question regarding data protection or the exercise of your rights, you can contact us at:

  • Impact RP

2. Data collected

2.1. Account data

When you create a Food Impact Score account, we record in particular:

  • your email address;
  • your user identifier;
  • your name, when provided;
  • the information necessary to manage your account.

You can also sign in using a Google account.

2.2. Meal data

When you use Food Impact Score, you can record information about your meals, in particular the data needed to calculate their environmental impact.

This data is associated with your account so you can retrieve your history and use the app's features.

Meal data does not directly contain your email address. It is associated with your account through a user identifier.

2.3. Statistical and usage data

Some data about how the application is used may be used for statistical purposes in order to:

  • measure application usage;
  • improve its features;
  • understand general usage habits;
  • improve the user experience.

Statistics published or used for analysis are aggregated and do not allow users to be individually identified.

2.4. Technical and analytics data

The application may use analytics tools to collect certain technical and statistical information about its use.

This information may relate in particular to application usage, performance and any technical issues.

The data collected by these tools depends on the analytics services actually used by the application and their configuration.

3. Purposes of processing

The data is used in particular to:

  • create and manage your account;
  • allow you to use Food Impact Score;
  • record and display your meal history;
  • calculate environmental impact scores;
  • produce aggregated statistics;
  • improve the application and its features;
  • ensure the security and proper functioning of the application;
  • respond to user requests.

We do not use personal data to send newsletters or commercial communications by email.

The application may however use in-app notifications to provide certain information or features.

4. Data access

Data relating to your account is stored in the infrastructure used to run Food Impact Score.

Application administrators may have access to the information necessary to administer the service, in particular the email addresses associated with user accounts.

However, administrators do not use individual meal data to identify users. Statistics used for analysis or communication are produced in an aggregated and anonymised form.

5. Data sharing with third parties

Food Impact Score uses certain technical providers necessary for the application to function.

Base44

The application is developed and hosted using Base44. The data necessary for the application to work may be stored and processed by the infrastructures used by Base44.

Google

Signing in to the application can be done using a Google account. In that case, certain information needed for authentication is processed by Google in accordance with its own privacy policy.

Analytics tools

The application may use analytics tools to measure its usage and improve its performance. The data processed depends on the tools actually integrated into the application.

6. Payments

At present, Food Impact Score has not yet published any payment feature.

If paid features are later integrated into the application, data processing related to payments will be documented with the necessary information and, where appropriate, an update to this policy.

7. Data retention

Personal data is kept for as long as necessary for the account and the application to function, or in accordance with applicable legal obligations.

When you delete your account, your identity and your meal data are removed from the application.

Aggregated and anonymised statistics that have already been produced or exported may be retained, insofar as they no longer allow a user to be identified.

8. Account and data deletion

You can delete your account directly from the application.

Upon deletion:

  • your account is deleted;
  • your identification data is removed from the application;
  • your meal data is deleted;
  • data that has previously been aggregated and anonymised for statistical purposes may be retained.

Deleting the account therefore does not necessarily entail the deletion of statistics that no longer allow the user to be identified.

9. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or unauthorised modification.

However, no system for storing or transmitting data over the Internet can guarantee absolute security.

10. Your rights

Under applicable legislation, you may in particular have rights regarding:

  • access to your personal data;
  • rectification of inaccurate data;
  • deletion of your data;
  • restriction of certain processing;
  • objection to certain processing;
  • portability of certain data.
